Shermer fails to provide any of the evidence of researches which have been published world wide is such prestigious publications as the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA). These would have been the most important points to stand against the claims that acupuncture is sham medicine only. I have yet to see a real video as such.

The legitimacy of this video of greatly weakened by the fact that Shermer fails to mention or show any of the scientific evidences that are there and proven with the most modern medical scientific devices. As I mentioned previously especially fMRI brain imaging are the most important and obvious, these show the part of the brain reacting to acupuncture that is being treated on the body. For example a point used for eye treatment activates the visual cortex of the brain and keeps it active....

I did not post 'one' study but test results collected from many medical researches and published world wide; and when I said it was based on our records, we did not do the actual trials, our data is collections of shared data from research centers, universities and clinics that published their results. These trial were randomized controlled trials - just like any western med. trial. The science is there. If you're too lazy to find it that's simply your own ignorance and no one cares.

Or maybe I should switch my career to be a western doctor. Hmmmm let's see. In the 40s western medicine used Cocaine as ingredient in some medications. In the 60s they came out with speed as an 'energy drug' and released it to the public.... or ready for the best one? In the 70s in the military they prescribed METHAMPHETAMINE (!) for soldiers to stay awake and to increase their performance. Oh yeah, talk about 'legitimate medicine'.

Maybe not for you but I rather consider those crazy that ignore facts that have been proven with legitimate clinical tries and published in the most prestigious medical journal on the world. Of course you may isolate yourself from the rest of the world, it is entirely your choice but I have read many articles published even by medical doctors who confirmed the findings. Those doctors are working together with OMDs and continue their researches. Your opinion is your opinion. I stay with facts.

All you had to say was "im a student of TCM" and I could have wrote you off as crazy before even answering you once."here is a video""here is a study""these are based on our own records"Dont you realise that millions of people have plenty to lose if they just give up on TCM? Its become an economic issue not a science issue. The science is clear....there is none.

Also, here is the research findings about the Bong Han channels from the Seoul National University of S. Korea. The channels were first discovered in the 60s by Kim Bong-Han and were identified as major two-way communication channels of the body. The Bong-Han channels run right along the acupuncture meridian systems identified by the ancient doctors and still used by acupuncturists today. Here is a short video on it:watch?v=NyahTD7oB8w

These are not from a random site, I am a student of TCM, these are from records gathered from our own clinic.

Points Hegu (LI4) and Zusanli (ST36) increases the release of certain types of hormones (17-OHCS and 17KS specifically), Zusanli (ST36) also affects the movement of stomach. Zhongwan (RN12) promotes gastric secretion while Gongsun (SP4) and Neiguan (SP6) suppresses it. Danshu (BL19) and Riyue (GB24) leads to gallbladder contraction, and Zhangmen (LR13) causes gallbladder expansion. These are all verifications of the ancient observations from over 2000 y/ago related to the specific functions.

Yes it is bogus, just because you copy pasted some info from some random site doesnt make you seem any more credible, in fact it makes you seem less credible and mroe desperate. You know how many bogus "study's" are done every single day?.
