With my 30.06 I shoot them in the neck. It is like hitting them with a sledgehammer. They always drop like a used condom. With a bow it has to be lungs or heart or you are only wounding them.

DrummerBoy167 is correct. English longbows are well over 75 lbs. Shooting a Polar Bear at 75 yds and actually killing it would be pure luck or more likely a "tall tale".

Actually, very few people would be disrepectful enough of the animal to take such a shot. Even at 300 fps you will be dropping by feet not inches at 80 yds. That means you better have a laser range finder even if you can make those shots. |
